3D Scanning
Capture the shape of an existing part for a reverse-engineering or design workflow with Aleph3D in South Africa.
When is scanning useful?
Scanning is useful when a physical part exists but a usable digital model is unavailable. It can support replacement-part development or the design of a component that must fit an existing shape.
Can a broken part be scanned?
Send photographs and dimensions first. Explain which areas are damaged or missing and whether a matching component is available. Reconstructing missing geometry may require design work beyond the scan itself.
Is a scan ready to print?
A scan captures surface geometry. A printable or editable model may need cleanup and reconstruction. Confirm the output format, critical dimensions and required accuracy with the team before arranging access to the part.
